Privacy notice for Eleanor Minney Drawing 2024

My privacy policy is based on ICO guidance. Last updated: 23 September 2024

In order to run my artistic and facilitation services through Eleanor Minney Drawing, I sometimes need to collect, store and process personal information. 

What information I collect, use and why? To provide my services I may collect information including: your name and contact details, as well as (‘special category data’) such as information about your health, access needs or identity such as pronouns or culture. I may collect or use third party information (such as a next of kin) and payment details (for records of payments). You would provide this personal information if you chose to participate in a facilitated session or course. For information updates or marketing purposes I collect or use: Names and contact details only.

Lawful bases and data protection rights: Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation Laws (UK GDPR), I must have a “lawful basis” for collecting and using your personal information. There’s a list of possible lawful bases in the UK GDPR. Which lawful basis I rely on may affect your data protection rights which are in brief set out below. Under data protection law you have the right to be informed of this policy, to access your information – for free for the first request – within one month, the right to make changes to your information if there are errors, the right to have information about you deleted / safely disposed of provided it is not needed for safe practice, and the right to restrict processing by unsubscribing from the mailing list or withdrawing your consent in participation. 

My lawful bases for the collection and use of your data to both “provide and improve products and services for clientsand for “information updates or marketing purposes are: consent – I have permission from you after I give you all the relevant information. All of your data protection rights may apply, except the right to object. To be clear, you do have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. And legitimate interests – I’m collecting or using your information because it benefits you, or Eleanor Minney Drawing, without causing an undue risk of harm to anyone. All of your data protection rights may apply, except the right to portability. 

My legitimate interests are: In order to run my drawing practice, I sometimes need to collect, store and process personal information. You would provide this personal information. if: you make an enquiry, decide to purchase a drawing, employ my artistic services, or if you choose to be added to my mailing list. If you chose to participate in a facilitated session or course a participant agreement would be given to you to read and sign, providing you were in agreement with it, to obtain your explicit consent for the collecting, storing and processing of your information. 

Under PECR (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations) I’ll require your consent if you wish to receive emails about exhibitions or news. You have right to remove your consent at any time by emailing mail@eleanorminneydrawing.co.uk and asking to be removed from my mailing list. 

I only obtain personal information directly from you.

How long do I keep information? Information collected and stored for participation in facilitated sessions will be kept no longer than is necessary. Your information would be stored under lock and key as paper records. I keep participant information for 5 years after the end of your participation, at which point it will be safely disposed of. 

Emails, and texts or voicemails (including initial enquiries) are deleted monthly, unless required for income tax purposes in which case they will be kept for 6 years. Your information will not be shared and will be stored securely on a password-protected device or as paper records. None of your personal information is stored on my website. If information is provided for invoicing, it will be kept for 6 years.
